Staggered Start

In the end there were five, though the rider count fluctuated right up to the relatively late departure from the Knott-lott.  Just when we were about to leave, another un-kitted rider showed up.  Just when we were about to leave, another un-kitted rider showed up.  Just when we were about to leave, another un-kitted rider showed up.  Eventually led by none other than Cappy, Xteric, Bambi, Councilman and I went out the back, dropped down below the first dam somehow, circled around, popped back up to M.E.T., rolled Flemming CCW, accidentally dropped 8A, climbed all the way up to the top of the Left from Camp Creek (a personal fave), then dropped said Lip and returned with a clockwise lake roll.

It was a fine ride, clocking in at just over 18 miles, nearly all of it either going up or down; proper.

The right side of my arse is tender today.  I think a "loop out" (Bambi's words) may be the culpret.  The traction was so good that it was indeed possible to ride your bike right out from beneath yourself on steep terrain.  I initially rated the traction for the evening at around an 8, but was subsequently likened to an Olympic judge from the old Eastern Bloc.  Consensus and a more thoughtful consideration put it comfortably above 9.

Councilman provided a generous offering of sauces retrieved from his recent trip to the borderlands (one can only assume he was down there keeping the Sinaloa in line). The Ace has a unique flavor, and the Viper has some real venom.

In other news about things from a bottle, let it be known that the Knott serves only the very freshest PBR available.

In case you are wondering about the picture above, that is Bambi laughing at Cap & Council trying to flash the FT3 gang sign with some semblance of  authentic street cred.

Expect more images from our rides in the future, my durable camera was returned to me a few days ago.  I lost it on a Tahoe ride over the summer, but it was found, the world is small, and through friends of friends it made its way back home to me.

On the biology front, Bambi took out yet another deer on the drive up last night.  I saw the hairs in his bumper.

That's all, except for this.  Humankind has checked off another epic accomplishment.  We have sent "beer" to space and back, safely.

  1. Nicely captured. A solid outing for sure, with one of us (who shall remain nameless but races 'cross) laying down a furious pace. The sauces were a nice diversion but lack he simplicity of the Red Sevina and the raw heat of side effects or bomb.
