For those not in attendance, yesterday's conditions were outstanding. Mid 70's, light breeze, minimal traffic, a nice day for a bike ride in our sister county to the south. Your's truly, coming off a bout with the plague, opted for the metric version, and it turned out to be, in one rider's estimation "a 65 mile picnic". And graze we did, just like our bovine friends along the approx. 20 mile intervals of rolling hills, farms, and vineyards. There were no mechanicals, nor downed/dropped riders, and the event culminated in a long tasty descent into Plymouth, followed by even tastier pulled pork sandwiches and beer. Enough said.
I believe PC got an earlier start on the double metric, so I invite his report as well.
On another note, this coming Saturday, my wife has convened a celebratory "no more school ever" party in honor of my graduation this month. This will be hosted at our home, from 3pm on. Kids are welcome. We will have a keg of something tasty, some BBQ offerings. Bring a side and whatever else you deem fit.
Hope to see some/all of you there.

Oh, and this Tuesday is the 1st Tuesday of the Month, so SSFT3 will be in effect. Ride what you got, but get out and ride.
1!
No more school ever!
ReplyDeleteI am IN and IN (with wife and guest).
I am IN. going up early, hopefully, for a pre 8 loop.
ReplyDelete4 and #?. I'll be at FT3 and CMan's picnic/party but have to leave early to attend a Sac Republic game w/family.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'm aware of at least 3 seperate groups who did the Sierra Century. We need to coordinate next year and get critical mass out there. Not sure why they moved the date from mid-June to late May but that stunk for me personal schedule. Hope they move it back to June next year for me, myself and I.
ReplyDeleteagreed on next years SC, more the merrier. Mine was a gametime decision (and a free entry). There were only 750 riders, vs. 1200+ in years past. I'm sure May didn't work out for a lot of folks...
DeleteDid Bambi ride last week?
ReplyDeleteMore important, will Bambi ride this week?
DeleteI realize the SC is non-competitive, but who won?
ReplyDeleteIf PC did the double metric as has been suggest, I say he won and gets extra credit.
DeleteWho is meeting at the Mosq. Lot today. I will be meeting up there this week.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I won't have time to ride to the Knott Lott. So, I am pleading for a Valero pick-up.
DeleteI have some very very back channel info that CMan is riding tonight. Maybe he will meet me in Mosq. lot and we will get NoCar. NoCar, if there is a NoShow otherwise at Mosq. then NoHandle will get you fo-show.
ReplyDeleteBy back channel, are you referring to the call out and my emphatic 1!?
DeleteAlso, I'm making up for last week's absence and doing a one man HCF blow-up.
ReplyDeleteI'm in but doing a go solo, no taco, FT2 style event.
ReplyDeleteNo Car - If you end up stranded I can do a Valero pick up; text me on status. Only one way ticket.
DeleteI can do a squito and Valero stop. Will be there 5:45.
ReplyDeleteMy FT3 brothers will be getting a partial wilderness first aid briefing this evening during pre-PBR time. It turns out I'm now allergic to most stinging insects and must travel with an Epi-Pen and Benedryl.
ReplyDeletePlease no-chatter along the lines of "well if we don't give him the shot, one of use will surely get the Pivot..." ;-0
Dibs on the road bike(s)
ReplyDeleteActually in all seriousness RG, that is pretty crazy - and a bit close to home for me.
ReplyDeleteI'll be checking the fine print to make sure its not an EPO-Pen
