Ain't No Tuesday Like a Taco Tuesday

An important message came off the wire this morning.

Jim Northey is hosting another free mountain bike race to test run the new site for the Coolest 8 & 24 hour race against cancer. Apparently, the new site looks like this:

The last time I went on a free ($0.00) bike ride that Northey put on, it was a great time. May 17th, for anyone interested. I know I am.

Some old business, RG is putting together a kit order. Don't miss this opportunity to pick up an outfit that is great to ride in and you can wear to black tie events.

The brand Sockguy makes a foot cover that they call "Taco Tuesday". It matches quite nicely.

Finally, I announced a contest last week to see who could ride the farthest and end up at my house on Friday night. Strava records indicate that the victory goes to Cappy. For a prize, I will pick up his tab tonight. Prize expires at midnight 4/28/2015.

ONE!

  1. I'm interested in the free bike event if it is a ride, not a race. Is that May 17th?

  3. Seis! The Dude Abides!! May drive up early for a pre-ride. Will check in later in the afternoon. And kudos to Northey and the Diamond S folks for partnering on this event. I think there are a lot of now defunct ranches who could benefit from opening their land to different uses. Wahoo!

  4. I would love to declare a solid IN tonight, but unfortunately the night time FT3 child care is working long hours on a project. I have my lights charged and stuff ready in case it works out. Will keep the blog posted.

Onto the topic of Dude - Bows comes to mind for the elbow protection on his inaugural ride.

    1. Jackson could probably handle babysitting responsibilities.
At the very least, you should be discussing not whether you are IN, but when will you get there. We could always arrange a mid-ride meet-up.

    2. Nothing bad could come from letting Newb jr. loose in the halls of the SO.

  5. I'm still trying to decipher Northey's post. Was the free!! kids ride!! free during the free!! event or is it only free during the official not-free event.

  7. I could get into the free race on May 17th if there is enough of a group going to pull together a decent carpool. I might even ride my cycle cross.

And the gauntlet has been thrown down, I need to ride up this evening and arrive before midnight to receive my free tab prize. At this time it seems worthy, please save a space in a car for me on the ride home. Since I lunch rode I will probably long ride all of you. Newb text me if you want to ride up with me at 8:30.

    1. 8:30 is pushing it. The kitchen might be closed by the time you get there. It would be a shame if all you could order is rye.

  11. Nocar - any more information about the May 17 race? The announcement says that registration is open, but I don't see anything about it on the northlanderevents.com website. I am interested in going if there is room in the carpool. I don't have a suitable vehicle, so someone will have to drive me there. - PC
