Over the years FT3 has faced much adversity in the way of winter. In these trying times our Dearly Departed B has supplied us with a quiver of skis and boots to slay our way to tacos. With B thus departed, we are left with three options as I see them:
1) Slay the deep crust in Pollywood (wear your hiking boots),
2) Turn tail and opt for a Tour De Pville Steeps,
3) Other option like Auburn or Cool.
Will there even be riders tonight to consider the options? Personally, having been off the bike for some days or weeks now, I need to pedal, so I am pushing for the latter. What say ye?
One for Riding, somewhere snow free....

How about Salmon Falls? (9 extra minutes of driving to get there) Or Crownan. UL
ReplyDeleteThat's a subjective measurement
DeleteHow about the oft mentioned option that noone is ever bold enough to do at 7pm in the lot. Option 4: Just drive up and eat tacos and drink beer and wonder at the snow. No option should be considered that does not include tacos.
ReplyDeleteI'd do that, would like to do a little skiing at least.
DeleteI will have to pass on the taco only option for fear of fatness. Like I said, no rides in several days (weeks). I am down for riding here and eating tacos there though. If we rode Salmon Falls we could hit up the Purple Place in EDH, that could be interesting. Cronin gets muddy but the South Fork American River Trail probably holds up pretty well to mud, we could out and back that.
ReplyDeleteOK so option 4 has been declared, go up and eat tacos and wonder at the snow.
ReplyDeleteI am going down the hill for a long flat ride, if anyone cares to join me that would be cool. Hit me up back channel.
Out for riding. Out for skiing too. Sad times indeed if tacos were missed. I may be able to pull the taco only option.
ReplyDeleteJust heard from Mother Rye:
ReplyDeleteNO TACOS TONIGHT
That's subjective. I believe what you must have actually heard is NO TACOS AT THE KNOTT HOLE TONIGHT. Low land it then?
DeleteOK gents, let's go all urban tonight and flat land it hipster style. FT3 rolls through downtown SAC, imagine the spotters wonder. It's been a long time since I've checked the blog this many times in a day.
ReplyDeleteTell me more.
DeleteI am proposing a Hobo ride of sorts. Drive to Folsom, Iron Point Station. Ride the American River Parkway to East Sac, 20 miles to the Club Raven, recently made famous in the acclaimed Ladybird movie. Have a beer and a shot and ride back. (Side note, it was famous before when the great band As Yet Untitled played there) Or we stop somewhere closer than there in the vicinity of Watt Avenue, there are options. Riding to the Tower Bridge/Capitol is an option too. Upon return to Iron Point there are food locations open late in the Folsom area. It will be the last night for dry riding for a while, let's take advantage.
ReplyDeleteI can do Folsom. Pretty sure 40 miles is over my limit tho.
ReplyDeleteWhen you find out how easy flat riding is you may change your tune but we can adjust for century riders, meet Mosquito Lot at 5:45 with road bike, lights, flask...?
ReplyDeleteI'll be there at Mosquito Parking lot.
