Good as it gets
Almost tuesday. Almost time to enjoy everyone's favorite past time: ridiculing friends in a public forum for having complex and meaningful lives that preclude them from a weekly mountain bike ride. Since attendance is inversely proportional to riding conditions, and tomorrow night's conditions should be fantastic, there should be ample opportunity for taunting those who have better things to do. Better than a fast decent with tires gripping banked turns, better than a spirited climb, better than savoring tacos and beers after a long ride.

Maybe it is my computer but there is no text in the post, only symbols. Based on the picture this could have been done on purpose but I dont see any symbols for tacos and beers.
ReplyDeleteTwo?
Hmmmm...the bike riding thing seems pretty interesting. Seeing how I have to toe the line for a ridiculous amount of running on Saturday, a bike ride may be a good thing today. Now where do I ride, and who do I ride with? Count me in, we will see if I remember how to ride a bike!
ReplyDeleteThree!
Five!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to some classic spring traction.
The coast was nice, or maybe it was just not working.
Oh man, did anyone see or read about Philippe Gilbert? He won his last 4 races including 3 Ardennes classics, he'd make Paul proud.
When I checked the blog from a different computer, I got the symbols as well. I like Bambi's interpretation, but the fact is I messed with the font because it didn't look right. All the good stuff is in the HCF anyway.
ReplyDeleteAs to this Gilbert character, it appear that Omega Pharma is showing off its latest performance enhancers.
I hope after winning his hometown classic, Paul allows himself more than "a beer".
So I am seeing symbols here on this computer, but was able to read NoCar's quality call out from my mobile device. This situation has occured before here on blogger.
ReplyDeleteI am out tonight and here's why; Last night I went over to Auburn to Demo ride a Yeti Big Top 29er. While I am bummed to have traded last night's demo ride for tonight's FT3... it was time well spent. In addition to the demo ride I got some much needed work done on my lefty. It also looks like I will be flying solo wednesday night, which means I will be riding then too if anyone can join me.
About the Big Top 29er. By far the best handling 29er I have ever ridden. The short chain stays and 70 degree head angle produce kish-like nimbleness. The carbon rear triangle smooths out the rough stuff well too. I am still very unsure about sizing though, the medium seemed a bit cramped on the climbs in spite of the fact that I had the seat rails all the way back.
If anyone want's a Yeti cross bike, they are being blown out right now - frame only price is $500. It's a great deal. B, need a crosser?
What is this "Auburn" thing that is being spoke of? Is that not a southern University with a knack for showering outstanding football players with lavish gifts? Call my confused, but I have been away from this blog for far too long!
ReplyDeleteOh, EID has placed the rocks as of thursday so where are we meeting
ReplyDeleteB is not satisfied with breaking every part of the bicycle, now he has moved on to the tools.
ReplyDeleteOn the fence at this late hour. I had an MTB related industrial accident and I'm not sure I'm all there. I was trying to seat a tubeless tire and it blew in a small room, ears are still ringing.
ReplyDeleteI'll try and regroup after my 4-5 pm meeting.
FT3 needs a 40 hour HAZWOPER refresher
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely shaking their heads at the spoke right now.
ReplyDeleteThey would be shaking there head, saying what's tubless...
ReplyDeleteI am out. I've spent the past 2 days way up a ladder lifting large beams overhead in precarious positions but have a huge platform in place for a massive tree house. Pictures later, but while the free labor (read: dad) is here, I'm staying focused on my "staycation" project and skipping tonight's outing. Send updates on palms, 9ers, ear drums, and EID
ReplyDeleterocks.
I'm able to see, here, and stand on one foot.
ReplyDeleteI'll go old school and use this thing called an inner tube.
Leaning In!
still can't spell though.
ReplyDeleteI am going to roll up to the knott via road tconight. I am attending a t-ball game. B, call me or I will call you. Captain I am down for a ride tommorrow afternoon or evening. Cronan Ranch is tasty right now! Call me or I will call you. Cell phones rule!
ReplyDeleteI'm in, and and have the usual two spots, possibly go up solo if necessary.
ReplyDeleteDo I need to drive B's car? What's going on?
