Man, has it been raining or what. I thought last week's outing with a 70% chance of rain that turned into a torrential down poor (and 4 stitches + machete chop of a beard) was a bit unexpected. Since then I don't think I've seen the sun. Our local trail expert has me informed on the back channel that indeed the trails are gone again - really, shoker. Is this round 3 of 3+ feet of snow in polly wood shutting us out?
While I think canoeing across Sly Park w/our headlights on, or Kayaking down Weber Creek would be cool adventures, I don't think they quite hit the mark for an FT3 outing. I for one, prefer my bikes, any of them. Most of them in fact are a bit sick of the rain and are in dire need of an overhaul but what is one more rain soaked ride. Peter, stay back I say stay back, I'm wearing many layers of clothing and you don't want a piece of me.
So my brethren, I say to you, what will it be. Who is core and who is a bore?
I am down for a ride tomorrow but will leave other options on the table.
My two cents is for some sort of P'Ville ride followed by Powel’s if our resident local can secure the taco orders again.
One - for whatever that entails.
THTH, out.

I think my life is conspiring against me to prohibit Tuesday participation. Or I have been hanging out with peter too much. Either way I have the sniffles and will be turning in my core card for tonight.
ReplyDeleteI am on a totally different secret training plan. Starting on Saturday and running through this morning, I have made 7 outings with the snow blower. With each one taking about an hour and shoveling on the side, my beach muscles are coming in nicely. The only problem is I will be so pasty white with the lack of sun, no one will want me at the beach. Out for tonight as I prep our hill for the storm Wed-Friday! I think I will enter the 24hr Snow Blower class!
ReplyDeleteTwo. For riding that is.
ReplyDeleteI want to propose an FT3 excursion. Salmon Falls, Cronin or Auburn.
Any interest?
Maybe we can all meet at Chet's house and do some extreme Yoga. I have some extra mats...
ReplyDeleteI would prefer hot yoga
ReplyDeleteAnyone ready for the 2.5 hour lesson on Thursday nights, with our drill sergeants, err, i mean instructors? It may not be a typical FT3, but it is a workout. Would love to see who is suave amongst the brethren...
ReplyDeleteHot yoga? Like Bikram? What have you been up to Bambi?
ReplyDeleteDamn, B, I am Jonesing to do some sliding. This rehab sucks. I do have designs on a post ?? Taco showing. Let's hope there is at least consensus on the taco part...
ReplyDeleteOk, one man (non-riding) attempt to blow up the HFC. Holla!!!
ReplyDeleteC-Man - Since you have a pass for the taco part - You could earn an honor badge tonight by picking up tonight's riders at the end of one of the following choose-your-own adventures:
ReplyDeletea) Pville - Cronin to Salmon Falls
b) Pville Rail Trail to El Dorado Hills
Should such an adventure ensue, I would ensure participating parties contribute to you reimbursement during post ride nourishment.
Awaiting B.'s official commitment, THREE.
ReplyDeleteAs to tonight's possible activities i am ready with five (5) bicycles, two (2) sets of skis and boots, two (2) yoga mats and no (0) rhythm. And I will be ready to use any of these implements depending on how we decide to answer the ancient question:
Are we
a) a group of bicyclists who go for a hard-core ride followed by dinner and refreshments at the nearest establishment,
b) a social fraternity who meets at our clubhouse after some athletic activity,
c) a disciplined squad who keeps their minds pure and bodies lithe so they are always ready to strike out at the forces of less enlightened clubs like train hobbyists, or
d) dancers?
(A).
ReplyDeleteI vote for a ride starting from town.
Salmon falls may put me out past my bedtime and include too much auto time.
a) a group of bicyclists who go for a hard-core ride followed by dinner and refreshments at the nearest establishment,
ReplyDeleteshould I bring my pocket knife and tweezer to check for missing stitches
ReplyDeleteWhy not commence the evening with a stop by Marshall for a consultation with our medical sponsor.
ReplyDeleteIs the spring rush coming up? Should I get anything augmented or tanned.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the choose your own adventure with C-man pick up is getting no play.
ReplyDeleteF-Fi
ReplyDeleteT-Tepsalon
T-Tipsalon
T-Tapsalong
I think you would look great with some lip augmentation NoHandle. you could do the temporary bee method like last spring.
ReplyDeleteOut.
ReplyDeletea) and occasionally c), but frankly feeling quite soft and Peter'y these days. I went out for a lunch ride and much needed dose of Vitamin D, with C-Man and Mel as my witnesses.
Looking forward to my next outing after some ballast and attitude adjustments.
P.S. - Anyone in the market for a Dura Ace 7800 10 speed groupo? If so, ping via email.
Should we bring our mud boots and try to wade through a route to THTH's place via Diamond Springs?
ReplyDeleteI'm an idea man, I'm not stopping till I get some feedback!
ReplyDeleteKnee should see normal abuse by mid to late April, B. Hard to resist the temptation to ride, especially when the sun makes a rare appearance. Till then, I'm doing rehab and 1 arm curls at home.
ReplyDeleteCall or text me w/the plans. I'll be at a tax apt for the next while. I'm down w/a Diamondsprings adventure, I think the local Mexican restaurant has a taco tuesday event too.
ReplyDeleteI was mostly kidding about Diamond Springs, that place will be a total pond. If you guys want a Pville Steeps of sorts, I am your Captain. If you want something better, talk C-Man into picking us up in El Dorado Hills or at Salmon Falls.
ReplyDeleteI have somewhat limited means for a full scale pickup. I can fit 3 bikes, maybe 4, but then seating may suffer. We could remove all seats and go kidnap style...
ReplyDeleteI am bringing the single speed MTB, crosser is out of commission. I will be there at 545, as per usual. You guys are so non responsive to my communica
ReplyDeleteWhatever happened to yoga? Hopefully i can return all these candles and the Enya CD I just bought.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting my crosser ready.
I was actually trying to Peter tonight, but my wife insisted I ride.
C-Man, I appreciate your willingness to be a team player, I suppose we will be in touch.
ReplyDeletethis is an effot to get the last HCF word in
ReplyDeleteStorm coming in fast off the ocean, might hit us by 10.
