The storm surge of Carnival has receded. Now, we enter the spartan
period of Lent. During this time FT3ers must make sacrifices in order to tap
their full Long Riding potential. We must abstain from perversions, like
jogging. And when Peter calls, on a cold and wet Tuesday, with an invitation to
watch old Tom Cruise movies, we must say no. The
training period is upon us.

These Gen 2 members are out training...
I Be Three! Do we have any reports from our Pollywood meteorologist?
ReplyDeletePerhaps next year one of us will greet Fat Tuesday with a Fatbike, replete with cages accommodating a 32-64oz bidon!!!
ReplyDeleteXt is out, because he is working in Livermore. RG said he would be out because he dislikes cold, wet weather.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the snow is starting to accumulate in Pollock, but we can still pull off a ride.
Snow is sticking in Camino, too. Still the storm should blow past this afternoon. At least the drive to Pollock should be clear by then.
DeleteNice shot of the G2 hard men.
ReplyDeleteJust had to push one of my coworkers cars so he could get out of the parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI'd say 4-5 inches of accumulation here on Union Ridge Rd. I have the Subaru, but not much bike carrying capacity. Oh wait, I could put on the rear rack. NM. Perhaps a preemptive call to Mother is in order. Just to be sure she "keeps the light on" for us...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how many tracks are on the EDT. If I can make it home on the Trucker than we should be fine riding on fat tires.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you guys riding tonight? EDH trail? Snow is about 4-6 inches in town and it keeps falling
ReplyDeleteriding in the hills of Pollystan. We hear there are rebels in caves, and we must flush them out and join them for tacos :)
DeleteI pulled a P5 on Saturday (Pre-Planned P3). The weather forecast called for a cold wet Tuesday, so I planned 4 straight days of activity leading up to this day. I know I should be admonished for such FT3 sacrilege, but I can't help but finding some wisdom in my Fun Factor logic.
ReplyDeleteYou guys have fun and I'll be sure to read the ride report.
no sacrilege, just opportunism at it's finest. Any day on the bike is goo. 4 is, well, 4X better. We'll toast you from the bosom of Mother nature herself (or from the warmth of the Knott faux fire). Remember to pop some corn, and add a splash of butter and salt...
DeleteThe EDT is more fun than you can throw a snowball at. I felt like an ancient mariner bursting through the high seas.
