Sounds like THTH did some secret training in Solvang. Perhaps the faster riders can give him a few hand slings. As for speed, I'll always be at the end of the pack.
waiting for x-ray results on my left ankle. More than 3 weeks after the race, she's still all messed up. Wanting to rule out a fracture before I really mess it up.
I wonder if I sling some mud at Cappy he will some how hear it and chime in. He has his special powers for that. I know I've been totally off the radar for two weeks, but still i question where are the rest this week. C'Man, Cappy, RG (Manny R).
Hand jive, hand jive, I'm number FIVE!! No wait, did I hear balloon twisting? Shoooot. This one time, at band camp (you remember band camp, right Cappy?), I put a ballon on my.....Oh NM ;) See ya at the squito lot, unless Cappy shows, and then I go fetch SansAuto....
Oh, and I'm guessing RG will be tucking into some brie, a bottle of Beaujolais, and a baguette of bread by start time. They eat a bit later en français, vous savez?
Planned all along, had to go into office FTF and could not contribute to HCF. I do have lot's of brie, duck and pastries to work off; I'll be joining the chit chat crew at the rear.
I hit up Cappy (newly appointed member of parks commission) via text asking about new 'lane designations' on ED Trail; we need to table the merits of implemented approach on the taco table. BTW - no reply on the text, he might be OOP.
Dear Rock God - I apologize for not swiftly replying to your text regarding trail markings. The merits of appropriate trail markings and travel direction are worthy of a lengthy in-person discussion. Please consider this reply as an offer for a future in person meeting to discuss this important matter. Sincerely, Cap'n
get used to it, RG. As an outgoing politician, I know we pride ourselves on canned responses and form letters. Tradecraft, if you will. Since I speak this language, allow me to translate:
I heard from celebrity bartender and fair-weather FT3er that Cappy was spotted at a fundraising event on saturday night getting drunk on banana daiquiris and engaging anyone who would listen about the prospects of a bike park in Placerville. It was unclear if he was going to be fit to race the next day.
Yes, the Cool Classic was indeed Classic this weekend. Potential record fast lap time's were in order with the unusually dry conditions. As for me, I just rode my own race and put 2 SS laps for a respectable 9th place finish in 1:32, 9 minutes shy of the winning time and 5 seconds shy of the guy I almost caught (who happened to be Joe Cool). Not the top five I was hoping for but not bad for having not ridden more than 5 hours any week since the beginning of December.
Cappy Jr. bested me by 2 spots taking 7th out of 26 in the 3.4 mile kids race, He was 5 minutes off the winning pace and only 1 second behind the boy he almost caught.
Out due to baseball tonight, XTeric's wife said something about a 'prior' commitment when informed of this evening's scrimmage game...Major DTI points...I hear his son will be at the game...
2.
ReplyDelete1 hr of no-lights riding. Should be sweet. Just back from Solvang Century so I'll be sore and slow tonight.
Who raced the Cool Classic? Cappy? NewB?

ReplyDelete7:06 PM Sunset in Pollywood tonight. Forecast calls for a high of 73 and low of 43 today: should be fantastic trail conditions.
ReplyDeleteI could see some hand slinging on the lake loop.
ReplyDeleteI can see some mud slinging
ReplyDeleteMight be time for some mud slinging in the HCF...

ReplyDeleteWe'll see what the doc has to say......
I would hazard a guess that conditions are mild enough that RG could join us. Unfortunately, that means they will be too mild for Cappy.

DeleteOops, I guess I'm SIX, I missed the third "IVE" in the worthy commit by Mr. Counselor.
DeleteCappy - Very professional response, you know this is the HCF right?

Delete"RG, My bad, we gotta table it for tacos. Later!"
and if I were texting this to you, I might include a handful of questionable photos...but that's a conversation for another time!!!

ReplyDeleteOh yeah, good point, I did have a few strong Lagunitas and a margarita the night before the race..Less gears more beers

Form Xteric: "going to twist balloon animals for awhile and will join later"
ReplyDeleteSo does that mean that Xteric is partially in? I'll leave my phone on and he could chime in mid-ride.
