A Dust Free June

We can thank Mother Nature (not Rye) for the blessing of a June rain yesterday, trails should be as good as they ever get tonight.
After a long - fast ride on almost perfect trails, we will sit at the council table also know as a bar and discuss two very important topics.
1) New Kits
2) 4JFT3 - July 3rd is a Tuesday.

Also, don't forget that June 16 is the Sierra Century, RG and I are in.  Anyone else joining us, even if just up the Slug?
One!
THTH

As cool as the matching "Smokey and the Bandit" wool jersey?

  1. Cool temps, long sunlight, smooth and dustless trails, big moon, less gears more beers... that all sounds waaaaay too good for me.

    Out.

And, yes it breaks my heart, but my mom is in town.

  2. As to the:
Kits -Yes, I'd like another, what about a winter kit?
J4FT3 -I've already put on the office calendar that I will be leaving early. I mean, this is El Dorado County, who would dare fault you for patriotism. I do plan on robing myself in red, white and blue.
Sierra Century -Thinking I may join you guys, haven't committed yet.

  3. Out on account of horse trading. My discussions over the last several months regarding certain bike interests are going to be acted upon this evening, thus ending a year long effort to procure a 29er that to me, has been both desirable and elusive. Since I have been both consumed and distracted by this phenomenon for much too long, it is time to reconcile this situation once and for all, if even on epic Tuesday.

  4. Surely, after procuring a new ride you would speed post-haste to Pollywood for a first ride in perfect conditions?

  5. While I do expect to have a new ride by days end I don't expect to have a rideable new ride by days end.

  6. Cappy is your ride coming from Auburn?
    American Made pop-metal frame?

How long do we have to hold out.
    Are we at 2 still.

  7. I'd like to experiment by installing a Magura rotor to replace my squealing Avid Elixer brake/rotor. I bet the trail conditions will be great today.

    1) I've never had a kit so you can count me in for an order or two.

    2) 4JFT3: is this going to be a day time ride or nightly camp somewhere or both? I'm on the fence and look forward to taco session discussions.

    3) Out for the Sierra Century.

As for tonight, count me in.

    Three!

    1. J4FT3 will actually take place on the 3rd. At least, that's when it will start. A proposition is getting floated to start a little early, if all willing participants are able. Some will definitely camp out that night and ride back to the shuttle cars??? the next morning.

  8. Three!

I'm without an MTB, will be sporting CX bike. Recovering from epic two day dual sport ride near Bear Valley, so I'm telegraphing a potential short ride bail out.

I do need to get re-motivated for human powered two wheeled fun; noting better than FT3 to make that happen.

I'm horse trading for kit design services, primed the pump last week. We'll make it happen. All kit options are possible, just need 5 minimum per item.

  9. xTerric may need to get a smart phone, we know he surfs Craigslist.org daily, but we never see his post on the blog. My only concern is re 4JFT3 and a possible early departure. His absense from both ride and blog leave him under represented.

    C-man, you in.

  10. NoCar, if your mother really loves you and wants the best for you...
Oh well, you finish the thought.

    1. NTH - Half your logic works, but remember that's means the SO is 'stuck' with the mother-in-law; could be all good, but could also have severe DTI impact.

  11. Targeting another rollup for tacos. Still a bit tender from last few cx rides. In for 4JFT3! Will Confirm tonights attendance later. Last week of school for me. Can't wait for summer! Oh, and I have sauce offering as well. Red Savina :)

  12. RG, I did think about the SO comment, but Mrs NoCar is so nice, she would get on well w/anyone. Plus what better time to bond then over a man they both love so much - it makes me tear up how sweet it is.
ToVFT3 - OK, what is it

  13. For the record: abandoning SO with in-law would be a severe DTI impact. But, since the SO is in Tahoe, I'd be abandoning mom entirely. Which would require an immediate trip to Humboldt and I would lose an entire weekend during long ride season.

    1. Brilliant! Perhaps she and the "other" Mother will hit it off and we'll see Aces all around...

  14. I am told said qualifier, Brent, has not been vetted by T1 nor any other member of our little circus. I'm told he used to race, but little else was mentioned. That said, we do need some new scout blood. Perhaps the welding goggles comment should be directed towards him, see if he blinks or nods in agreement.

  15. Anytime the HCF gets into the 30's I'm stoked.
This and we hardly heard from Cappy ever since he skipped out of work to go out of county for a new ride. Imagine if he were in the blogosphere today too.

  16. So is T1 or T2 going to join said applicant?
Wouldn't it be awesome if he crushed us tonight.

  17. What if he brings PBers, and then crushes you on his SS, because, he noted that its the first Tuesday

  18. Road roll up looking on for me. Will there be available transport for my return to town? PBRs provided to driver..

  19. So, you are looking for a ride home from a drunk?

    1. You offering? The beverages would be enjoyed during the meal, not en route to Ptown. That would be unethical and illegal.

  20. Hopefully RG will be driving up again. If you need a ride back, I can drive up and then we'll definitely have space to shuttle someone down.

  26. Thanks guys for a great ride. It was a swell ride out there. Taco Tuesdays!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. And also a big thanks for the light, it would have been pretty spicey out there without it. Maybe even more spicey than "100% Pain" hot sauce. Also thanks for instructing me on the taco ordering process. Who knew there was so much in a number!

  28. Cappy, we need details on the new ride

Barrett, I think I have your new order, the Pontiac Super Duty. A 455 available only in 1974 and 1975 Firebirds. Good years, damn good years.
