The Late Arrival of Winter

Over the years FT3 has faced much adversity in the way of winter. In these trying times our Dearly Departed B has supplied us with a quiver of skis and boots to slay our way to tacos. With B thus departed, we are left with three options as I see them:

1) Slay the deep crust in Pollywood (wear your hiking boots),
2) Turn tail and opt for a Tour De Pville Steeps,
3) Other option like Auburn or Cool.

Will there even be riders tonight to consider the options? Personally, having been off the bike for some days or weeks now, I need to pedal, so I am pushing for the latter. What say ye?

Winter Returns

Last weeks hurricane was followed by a cold front which brought snow to Pollock Pines. The remaining snow and cold temps will make for challenging conditions for the hard men that mount their steeds tonight. Pithy core, this is your call, make sure roll is taken and all are accounted for. Kudos to those who can bring the heat to Pollywood tonight. Is your bike snow worthy, are your shoes worthy? Can your gloves fend off the biting cold? If you don't know now, you can find out this evening.

The count starts at Nil...

SHROVETIDE

40 days of penitent training start tomorrow and end when Long Ride Season begins. Tonight we will reflect, identify our weaknesses, and consider how to amend our mountain biking deficiencies. To facilitate this we will drink the traditional tonic and ride like madmen into the night. For those wishing to confess that they have jogged, a priest is on his way.

A message from Punxsutawney Phil

Don't drive angry even if we are supposed to have six more weeks of winter.

A few days ago, our friend Phil made a bold announcement, "Six more weeks of winter, but not for Pollywood". Yes, that's right. With the exception of a few showers, our beloved hood is more

Nonetheless, it is our home and our obligation to take advantage of this more temperate winter clime.

Speaking of climbing, Cap'n led UL and this rider on a 'best of' tour of the hood last Sat afternoon. We endured endless Mastication on the NE side, but Naptime delivered and Cap served up a tasty brew afterward.

Speaking of tasty brews, I will be bringing one to share in the Knot Lot, as well as a sauce offering.

So that makes me One.

What say ye?

Extra Skeezy

Pollywood's bountiful soil buffet presented an exotic new dish last Tuesday: top of the qualifier was sloppy, plastic clay uniformly pressed to six inches with heavy equipment tread. Conversely, the dirt on Nap Time gripped the tires just right and Newb led a clean descent.

XT and I are discussing a medium cross ride early Saturday, done by noon. Plum Creek? Happy Valley?
