FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Owing to pressing circumstances, the FT3 Executive Steering Committee convened an unusual closed session and made two determinations.

First, a new dinner venue will be tested this Tuesday. For many months now, FT3 has contemplated how Tuesday nights could exist without the Knot Hole. After an appalling meal service last Tuesday, proposals for alternative taco service were solicited. Hands down the superior bid came from Chickenbake, who promised to serve delicious tacos to all riders at the Pine Lodge. A 9:30 dinnertime was agreed upon, with taco orders placed before riding. To accommodate the different dinner location, the new parking spot will be the area to the east of Sly Park Road at the saddle, across from the intersection with Onyx Trail.

Second, as no long rides have been scheduled for July, the quintessential LRP, Strawberry-Kirkwood, has been slated for Sunday July 7. Interested riders should contact Junior or Nocar. Uninterested riders should be bummed, because its going to be awesome.

Also of note, the Rose to Keys ride is scheduled for the first weekend of August, details to follow.

  1. This move away from the knot hole could of been avoided. Mother Rye should be named a conspirator. #spawnownstheknothole

  2. Well now this is interesting and raises so many questions, I don't know where to start but for one: What are the rules of engagement at the new parking spot and how does that change things if a Qualification is needed. Second question is for Emoji and me to ponder: What route do we drive now and should we begin carpooling at MoFlat - this new setup does lengthen the drive from South county

    1. You can see if Bones Roadhouse will serve us tacos late. Or, even better, volunteer to be the Taco Bitch and we can park at the Blue Gouge Mine lot.

  3. And regarding SKWS - I am on of the bummed ones as I have plans already on Sunday.

  4. I was actually mentioning last week how direct marketing to MTBers under the right ownership would be a resounding success at the Knott Hole. Demo bike events, parts available discounts for MTBer's etc. Welcome Mountain Bikers!

  5. Alas, the spittling drunk will bury the place before long. So we move on.

  7. I'm also committed for Sunday. Need more lead time for a full day outing. I am sure XT and NoCar will have fun together though. Definitely have first weekend of August on Calendar, Saturday 8/3 is preferable for me.

  8. Three for tonight. Can I meet someone at Mosquito lot at 5:50 or 6 and catch a ride up?

    1. I would like to carpool but I have my car and it can only support one boost bike (inside). Unless it's Nocar then I can take him because he has a boost adapter (for on top).

  9. Regarding Sunday's ride, Mrs. nocar was in the area this morning and reports that probably only the Sentinel trail into Kirkwood will still have significant snow by ride time. Also, days are long, we can easily leave very early or return very late if that will accommodate anyone else's schedule. Or, for Cappy's sake, we can just ride faster, be done in five hours or less.
