Long Rides and Dusty Nights

With the nice weather and long hours of light, the recent FT3 rides have picked up in distance. Per my Strava account accumulated mileage of 20+ miles were recorded on the last two events.
Dust is usual for this time of year, maybe it was the additional pavement miles to avoid dust that added to the miles or just the overall badassness of the riders.

I've been sitting on the fence expecting Cappy to post a new call out for his LRP effort coming up soon. Maybe he will jump in on this post.

For now, One!

I may as well also point out that my recent spate of absences have left me at -2. Nobody's perfect.

  2. And, yes, the Rose Hole or maybe the Rose Strawberry is totally going down from late 8/5 - late 8/7.

  3. Since I am a prepper, and was gagging with a bunch of kid soccer players yesterday afternoon, i checked out the AQI (https://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=airnow.local_city&cityid=327) showing an "unhealthy" stain across the foothills including Pollywood. That's ozone. The particulate matter? yeah, probably a wee bit of that on the tail end of the peloton today.

    Tre.
    I think Cappy's in Cappytola.

  4. I'm working out of town again this week, so unfortunately OUT for this evening. I just added a few pics from Sunday's LRP. Route was determined by Buttons. It was a point to point from Mud Lake TH - Long Valley Trail (sweetness) - Squaw Ridge - Horse Canyon (Sweetness) - Martin Meadow CG - Caples Creek/Sinverfork trails - Caples Creek TH at the bottom of Silverfork Rd.

    1. Damn, those pics do show some sweetness
I want to do that ride. Can you give some stats on miles and hrs.

    2. We probably pedaled from about 10-6, including about a dozen stops. A blistering pace, it was not. Mileage is hard to estimate but it was probably about 35? XT should have the stats from Strava. We were gifted about 2500' with the shuttle but there was still plenty of uphill pedaling from the TH on the Mud Lake roads, on Long Valley Trail, and of course up Squaw Ridge.

    3. Indeed strava had the #s. Top elevation was pretty high at 9,259 and mileage looked good too, 31. Nice work, beautiful scenery.

    4. If XT rides, be sure to ask about the bear we saw on Sunday

  5. We'll see if I can get home. Apparently there's a grass fire burning below the apple cafe
