I think baskeball season is over now

This call out has a not so subtle hidden message.

I said enough on that topic, except to clarify that I'm not talking about March Madness.

Well, maybe this will help if anyone is unclear of the meaning (sorry not much of a poet like my FT3 brethren).

I once knew chap who road bikes
Then traded up for a pair of Nike's
He was full of new trails
Sometimes road off the rails
I wish he’d come back on Tuesday nights

I am fully anticipating a large pack of FT3ers tomorrow. Looking forward to a great ride with limited nightlight support, a clear sky and premium traction.

If you have not read NoCar's recap of last weeks events you should drop in on that last post, it left me regretting my absence on the night.

On a final note, and topic for taco table. Anyone up for getting back to a more punctual start time and enjoying a long ride without getting chided by the taco bitches for tardiness.

One.

  1. Thanks for the early call out, and yes would love to shoot for a more punctual start time. I mentioned this a few weeks ago, I am no longer working until 5:30, so I could easily ROLL out of the Mosquito lot by that time if others were to arrive around 5:15...that should make for an easy 6:30 roll out of the Knott lot.

Keep in mind however, that the Knotthead contingent will be making their presence known as the longer and warmer days come upon us, and thus, we will be less likely to hear about our late arrivals and will be more likely to be enduring longer wait times for tacos.

I like how he 'road bikes'

    ONE!

  3. I gonna straight blow up the HCF right now, and why not, it is less than 24 hours until the best FT3 ever!!

  4. Installed a new spring in the tensioner and sprung it in the upward pushing direction on the S/S c-dale. Hopefully it works good. If not, I have the appropriate tools.

  5. Err, I mean TWO!! Wow I not only blew up the HCF in advance, but I also durrfed the count off in advance.

    The count holds at TWO!

  6. Earlier ride time is good with me.

On the fence for tonight. Will beg and plead and post update later.

  7. You don't have to beg Bambi, we want you to join us.

  8. As to the early start, I struggle to be ready for the Camino drive-by at 6:00.
The half hour at the knott lott, changing into our cycling costumes, will shrink as the weather makes the layering choices easier.

  9. Let us remember our brother, The Councilman, as he bravely faces the knife today.

  10. Yesterday I faced the scope (Cappy can explain on the ride) but all is well. It is much less violating than you would think.

  11. Did you get to see the screen while they plumbed your depths?

  12. That is definitely the best HCF comment ever.

  13. First NoHandle's day early call out, Cappy sounds like a kid during an Easter Egg hunt, Bambi's scope must have cleared out a technical impediment as this is the earliest HCF entry I recall and the usual dry wit from B & NoCar - spring has sprung!

I'm on the sidelines for one more week, got two easy road rides in, but left rib cage is still tender.

To increase comeback motivation I contributed to LBS stimulus; looking forward to smoother rolling and shifting road bike soon.

  14. Will you be getting rid of your clunky shifting and rough rolling road bike?

  15. Just upgrades, so there may be some components available if anyone is interested.

Off to Oral Surgeon for pre-op appointment. Local DR's are getting stimulus too.

  16. For the record re: punctuality. I was only proposing that we return to the original days, Where 5:45 meant 5:45 and the cars head up the hill, people arrived at the Knot Lot on time ready to ride. Heading out at 6:30 allows for a good 2-2.5 hrs of riding and back at the Knot in time for a leisurely dining experience.
If our departure times have grown late out of necessity, that is fine, If out of laziness, then I propose we reassess.

  17. I can't belive there have been no comments from our dear ride leader.

  18. Cappy, there is no good chain tensioner

  19. Is this a movement to stifle Pre-BRing?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm suggesting just as much PreBRing, just starting at 6ish, not 6:30.

  21. B, what do you know about Tolls, have you been jacking up people's blogs? Been called one?

  22. regarding the "were we ever?" comment, I've been holding back but I do recall one time (not in band camp) when Xterric was ditched in the lot at 6:15 - crazy that.

  23. Indeed, there is no good tensioner.

Remember when XTeric used to play basketball?
