Are you feeling pithy?

  1. Out Again - SE # 8 is new hole in head with inserted hardware to re-repair old kayaking injury. Plus, fitness still not up to FT3 standards.

EDH Crit was a big success - VD, Ghost and GreenFro participated. The course was excellent; technical back section with uphill straight stretched things out in all categories.

Check out the video from Brian (PC series organizer). It's got a knarly crash with new Body Concepts local Ron as instigator.

  2. RG could you please clarify what sort of hardware was inserted into your head. Apparently, FT3 has been diligently stimulating the economy of the Medical Industrial Complex.

  3. Something tells me it will be forged from 3/2, nay, 6/4Al titanium. Nothing but the finest for those 1% folks :)

The healing goes on, and I am now 5 weeks from strenuous activity. For those who've never had the pleasure, this particular op renders your _____ varying shades of blue. It's as if I spent the weekend at an ______ convention.

Just maintaining the family friendly nature of this blog.

  4. RG, what is up w/your injury status. Are you trying to catch up w/C-Man.

I'm a strong maybe. Have a flight in the AM for a sales demo that I need to prep for.

C-Man, Cappy, how are your medical conditions.
Damn what has this group come to. We are almost as beat up as a Red Bull sponsored MMA pro.

  5. Prepping for a sales demo just doesn't carry the same impact as "my ____ is varying shades of blue." or "I just had hardware inserted in my head."

Is Ghost one of the scouts?

If Cappy wasn't present at the Crit, chances are slim he's off the injured reserved roster. I am anxious for a report.

  6. I got back on the bike for the first time yesterday. The knee, while it still hurts, has not left me 'mobility limited,' nor did it show any major signs of bruising. It just had a slight yellowish hue.

The arm is healing up nicely, but it does provide a tinge of pain when riding over bumps. Would have been good to get some stitches, because it is healing a lot slower without them.

While I may be off the disabled list, I am still in the rehabilitation phase. Hence my decision to stay on the road for the time being. Since I didn't get my road race on this weekend, I am going to explore my road curiosities this evening by riding in Folsom with Green Fro's road cycling troupe. I think the knee will be better served by a road spin as opposed to stomping the pedals of the single.

Speaking of the road race this weekend, I may have dodged a bullet by crashing out at last Tuesday's FT3 and not road racing... the crash on the video looks gnarly!! Plus Green Fro took someone out as well... and I heard there was a crash in the class I would have raced in.

Rock - I thought that looked like Mark Ferry with the major road rash in the Body Concepts kit?

Should be back on the trails next week - but I know I am out next Tuesday because we have a little league game.

  7. Said kayaking injury from Giant Gap (prophetic name) section of NF American left RG two teeth short. Esteemed Dr. Larsen repair finally failed after 18 years.

So I was lined up with the other geriatrics to get an implant for my eye tooth. Two hours in chair & 3 procedures left me with some permanent Ti hardware; 3 months of retainer with fake tooth, then another crown.

Riding easy road, sneezing still feels like a good friendly trail dice elbow to the ribs, so things are getting better on that front.

  8. Be sure to check out the video, it was shot with an arial remote quad copter.

BTW - what's with the double word entries to verify publish? Can someone turn down the security a notch?

  13. If LOtB is spouting off w/5.25 he must be a solid
    No Car: 1
    THTH .75
    B 1
    Bambi .75
    Safety 1
    LoTB x
= 5.25 Solve for x it is simple math he is a .75 too

  14. Oh and WOW! Is that really Lars in the mix
I'm leaning further towards riding. Need to check in w/my secratery and confirm my clothes are cleaned and pressed.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well, Lars always give it 110% so he still has 5% more go give. I'd say he's 80% riding and 30% tacos.

    ReplyDelete
  16. There is 100% chance available for me to ride and an equal 100% chance for tacos. I see these as two separate events each with a complete 100% chance of occurrence. That being said, I do routinely give more than 100% on just about everything!

  17. Bambi, I'm in.
I plan on long riding and short tacoing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am in. The short ride/long ride decision will be made en route.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Maybe Cappy, C-Man and FrankenTooth can roll up to tacos, it will be like party

  20. Oh, and don't forget last week's vote for a return to punctuality, this allows both a long ride and an early toco time.
